The Ichogwa Atta Igala of Okpachalla/Ogbagbada, Chief Agono Augustine Acheneje, has expressed gratitude to Mr. Paul Odekina, a retired TotalEnergy staff member for donating a borehole and generating set to the community.

This generous gesture has brought immense joy and relief to the residents, who had long struggled with access to clean drinking water.

During the commissioning of the project, Chief Acheneje praised Odekina’s selflessness, noting that the borehole will significantly improve the health and well-being of the community by providing clean drinking water and reducing waterborne diseases.

He emphasized that this act of philanthropy demonstrates Mr. Odekina’s commitment to the welfare of his people and serves as a shining example for others to follow.

Community leaders, including Prince Sunday Inah, CEO of Karomsi Hotels Lokoja, also commended Mr Odekina’s kindness, describing it as a welcome development that will greatly improve living conditions.

Prince Sunday Inah highlighted the essential need for water in human survival and noted that the community had suffered for too long without access to clean water.

He urged the community to take ownership of the borehole and ensure its maintenance to guarantee its sustainability for future generations.

In his response, Mr Paul Odekina thanked the community for appreciating his gesture, stating that it was driven by his desire to alleviate the suffering of the people due to lack of potable water.

Prince Sunday Inah also took the opportunity to thank other public-spirited individuals, like Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, who had supported the construction of a culvert along the road to the community.

He noted that such acts of kindness have significantly improved the community’s infrastructure and quality of life.
