A former Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ocheni and wife, Dr. Mrs. Regina Ocheni have paid traditional homage on the Attah Igala, His Majesty, Dr.Mathew Alaji Opaluwa, Ogwucheakpa the second, over the tragic death of his elder sister.
Professor Stephen Ocheni alongside his wife who is the immediate past Deputy Head of Mission to the Republic of Germany.
Her Excellency, Dr( Mrs) Regina Ocheni described the death of the elder sister of the Attah Igala as painful, sad and tragic.
He prayed to God to grant the Attah Igala the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The former Minister, Prof Ocheni who holds the title of Omachi Attah Igala, noted that the purpose of the visit was two folds.
According to him, he and his wife were in the Palace to condole with Attah over the loss of his elder Sister as well as intimate the Attah Igala on the successful completion of the diplomatic service of his wife as Nigeria’s Deputy Head of Mission to the Republic of Germany.
He thanked the Attah Igala for his fatherly support and prayers for the family all along which contributed in no small measure to her success in the foreign land.
Also speaking, Ambassador( Mrs) Regina Ocheni who holds the title of Omiakele Attah Igala, condoled the Attah Igala on the demise of his elder sister.
She noted that as a title holder herself it was incumbent on her to pay the condolence visit in view of the fact that the deceased was one of them before her death and prayed for the repose of her soul.
Ambassador Regina Ocheni expressed gratitude to the Attah Igala for his steadfast support and prayers throughout her diplomatic service.
The entourage of the former Minister included the Caretaker chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government, Hon. Cosmos Atabor, former member representing Idah Federal Constituency in the National Assembly , Rt. Hon. Ismaila Innah Husseini, former Kogi State NUJ Chairman,who is also former Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government, Comrade Ali Atabor, immediate past Provost College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah,Doctor Nuhu Solomon Anyegwu, Traditional rulers, political Associates, friends, former aides of the Minister and other personalities.
