Hon. (Barr) Cosmas Atabor, the Executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government, has initiated the grading of feeder roads to improve rural infrastructure and ease the challenges faced by residents and road users.
This project focuses on areas with significant potholes and debris and is aimed at enhancing economic activities, broadening accessibility, and addressing community needs which signifies a strategic step toward community development.
Hon. (Barr) Atabor who had already mapped out areas of attention in the first phase of this project has also commenced action swiftly as he sealed the terms of the agreement with the contractor to start work immediately.
The Chairman had directed the first phase of the work to kick off from the Otobo-Ikare-Ojokuta route as it also serves as a tribute to the late Professor Nuhu George Obaje, a distinguished scholar and community leader, whose contributions are being honored ahead of his final rites.
This gesture highlights the Chairman’s sensitivity to both the practical needs and honoring significant community figures.
Hon. Isah Bello, Supervisor for Works, Housing, Land and Survey, praised Hon. (Barr) Atabor’s prompt response to community needs.
He described the project as a precursor to more infrastructure improvements to be enjoyed under Barrister Atabor’s led administration.
Also speaking, Mr. Garba Nuhu, Head of Works and Housing Department, commended the Chairman for aligning his actions with his promises.
He expressed his optimism about future projects under Hon. (Barr) Atabor’s leadership.

He also emphasized his determination to implement initiatives that will enhance the quality of life and promote economic activities in the overall interest of the indigenes.
