The Executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas Ilemona Atabor, has received commendation from the newly coronated Ogohi Attah of Ikeffi, Chief Alih Ogu Haruna, for his peacebuilding efforts in the community.
Chief Haruna, who paid a thank-you visit to Hon. Atabor’s office alongside other prominent community leaders, praised the chairman’s timely intervention in resolving the face-off between the Ikeffi community and Fulani herdsmen, which brought lasting peace and stability to the area.
Hon. Atabor congratulated Chief Haruna on his emergence as the Ogohi Attah of Ikeffi, urging him to promote peace, dialogue, and harmony in the community.
He advised the traditional leader to always consult with constituted authorities before taking major decisions, to sustain the peace recently restored in the area.
The Executive Chairman described Chief Haruna’s emergence as a divine manifestation of God’s hand in the affairs of men.
Chief Haruna in his remark pledged his support to the APC-led administration, crediting Hon. Atabor’s leadership for improving farming activities and reducing crime rates in the area.
The Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman on Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Joseph Ataguba, lauded Hon. Atabor as a true advocate of peace, noting that his decision to grant the Ikeffi community autonomy to have their own traditional representative has strengthened local harmony.
The visit affirmed Hon. Atabor’s commitment to inclusivity, fairness, and peace promotion across Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, showcasing his dedication to the well-being of the community.
