Barrister Cosmas Atabor Assumes Office as Igalamela/Odolu Executive Chairman, Pledges People-Centered Governance.
Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area witnessed a new dawn today as Barrister Cosmas Atabor formally took office as the Executive Chairman.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a fresh era of leadership, with Barrister Atabor pledging to give priority to the welfare and needs of the Community.
During an interactive session with stakeholders in his Office at Ajaka, headquarters of the Local Government,including three former chairmen of the Local Government, Barrister Atabor stressed the importance of collective responsibility in driving development.
He called on all stakeholders to join hands in building a prosperous Igalamela/Odolu.
“My administration will be people-centered and youth-friendly,” Atabor assured. “We will work tirelessly to address the pressing needs of our people, creating opportunities for growth and development.”
As part of his first-day activities, the Executive Chairman embarked on an inspection tour of key offices, including the Vice Chairman’s office and the Legislative Council complex.
Barrister Atabor expressed dismay over the poor condition of the Legislative Council chambers, promising swift action.
“We will take necessary steps to make the office accommodation for our Councillors more conducive, enabling them to discharge their legislative duties effectively,” he assured.
Atabor also announced key appointments, retaining serving Supervisors, Chief of Staff, and Personal Assistants. New appointments will be announced in due course.
Supervisor for Health, Mr. Samuel Umoru Ekwuoloko, and media team member, Ikojo Edime Ibrahim, commended the Chairman for the opportunity, pledging to deliver on their responsibilities.
Tomorrow, Thursday, October 23, 2024, Barrister Atabor will inaugurate members of the Legislative Council at 10 am in the Legislative Council Chamber.
The inauguration ceremony is expected to set the tone for a harmonious working relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms.
