Borno state Government flags off distribution of goats in Pulka.

Borno State Deputy Governor , Umar Usman Kadafur has  flagged off the distribution of 5000 goats to 2500 IDPS in Pulka Community in Collaboration with UNDP .

The Deputy Governor in his address stated that as part of the pillar 3 of the Borno State Development plan and 10-Year Transformation Agenda, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum administration is vigorously pursuing strategies that will uplift the living standard of it’s people, and one of the strategy is the collaboration with development partners which has yielded positive dividends.

Alhaji Umar Usman Kadafur therefore extend the gratitude of the Borno State Government for the excellent collaboration with donors under the regional stabilization facility and the UNDP for the mutually beneficial collaboration which has culminated into this event.

The Deputy Governor also called on the beneficiaries to take care of this animals as they are capable of changing their economic fortune if properly managed.

He said the beneficiaries should also note that this gesture was particularly selected for the people of this community by his Excellency the Executive Governor because of the devastating effect of the insurgency here and therefore the need to continue to support the government of Prof Babagana Umara Zulum so that more of such support will be attracted to your community.

H.E Umar Usman Kadafur promised that government shall continue to do everything possible to uplift the living standard of our vulnerable population as part of our recovery, peace and stabilization plan.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of RRR said the Ministry distributed 3000 goats and sheep to 500 female beneficiaries with additional 200 to be distributed before the end of this year.

The Permanent Secretary said this singular effort is geared towards the restoration of lost means of livelihood of the displaced communities,reduce poverty, overdependence on handouts and put them back on economic independence.

The Member representing Gwoza at the Borno State House of Assembly and the Chairman of Gwoza thanked Borno State Government and UNDP for the support given to  vulnerable people of Pulka Community.

The Occasion was attended by H.R.H The Emir of Gwoza Alhaji Muhammad Ibn Idrisa Timta.
