Christmas: Hon. (Barr.) Atabor Urges Christians to Embrace the Spirit of Christ’s Love
The Executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas Atabor has called on Christians to reflect the love of Christ in their celebration of Christmas, a season that marks the birth of Jesus Christ and symbolizes God’s immense love for humanity.
In his Christmas message, Hon. (Barr.) Atabor emphasized the importance of extending love and care to orphans, widows, the less privileged, and vulnerable members of society as an expression of gratitude to God for His enduring mercy and blessings on Nigeria, Kogi State, and Igalamela/Odolu in particular.
He acknowledged the relative peace and progress enjoyed in Kogi State under the leadership of the Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, commending his prudent and benevolent governance.
The Chairman in his message has also commended the significant roles of the speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly and its members, Members of the State Executive Council, and other government functionaries as well as stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igalamela/Odolu LGA praying for wisdom and God’s guidance for more prosperous years of impactful governance.
Hon. Atabor urged Kogi citizens, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue praying for the state’s prosperity and for God’s protection over the Governor, whom he described as a leader sent to elevate Kogi State to greater heights.
The Chairman also encouraged non-Christians to use the occasion of Christmas to reflect on God’s goodness in preserving their lives through the challenges of 2024 assuring them of the hope of greater achievements in the coming year.
Hon. (Barr.) Atabor stressed the importance of promoting unity and love among the people, irrespective of religious, tribal, or political affiliations, noting that harmony is key to the progress everyone aspires to achieve.
He further advised the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious while avoiding any inciteful actions or words that could disrupt the peace of the celebrations.
The Chairman concluded by wishing all Kogites and Igalamela/Odolu indigenes, in particular, a joyful Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance, expressing optimism for a stronger, more united Kogi State in 2025, where collective efforts will add significant value to society.
