The Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center in Lokoja was abuzz with thousands of Muslims who gathered to observe the two-rakaat Eid-el-Kabir prayers.
Comrade Zakito Umar, former Executive Chairman of Igalamela Odolu Local Government Area, was among the faithful who attended the prayers with his family.
The symbolic slaughtering of a ram by the Chief Imam marked the beginning of the celebration, serving as a poignant reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith in Allah.
In an interview with Journalists, Comrade Zakito Umar reflected on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, emphasizing the importance of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion.
“This period is a time for Muslims to reflect on their absolute faith in Allah, regardless of their circumstances,” he said.
The event brought together people from diverse backgrounds, united in their faith and celebration.
The Eid-el-Kabir celebration is a notable occasion in the Islamic calendar, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to obey Allah’s command.
