The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Council, Comrade Ademu Seidu, has emphasized the importance of physical fitness for journalists to discharge their duties diligently.
He made this call today in Lokoja during the 2024 Press Week activities, where members embarked on a fitness exercise.
Comrade Seidu commended the massive turnout of journalists, stating that it strengthens the bond among members.
He highlighted the significance of fitness, saying, “Journalists need to be fit and well because we are always on the move.
This exercise will make members work with ease and in good health.”
He also acknowledged the success of this year’s press week and urged journalists to maintain their commitment to union activities.
Comrade Seidu reminded them to adhere to professional ethics, emphasizing the crucial role of journalists in promoting democracy, good governance, and a better society.
Some Journalists who took part in the walk described it as very healthy, stating that a healthy soul is key for optimal performance.
They called on the state executive of the Union to provide sporting facilities at the Press Center to enable working Journalists and friends of the Union to take active part in sport activities.
