Gov Ododo Commended for Embracing Electricity Market Policy

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has been commended for embracing the Federal Government’s policy allowing states to participate in the electricity market.

Rt Hon Sani Egidi Abdulraheem, member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, gave the commendation during a visit to the Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission’s headquarters in Lokoja.

Received by the Commission’s Chairman/CEO, Engr Ibrahim S. Abdwaaris, the federal lawmaker praised the Commission for its swift operationalization and effective regulatory functions.

He also commended the Commission’s efforts in creating an enabling environment for private sector participation in Kogi State’s electricity market.

Rt Hon Egidi Abdulraheem promised to report back to the House of Representatives on the Commission’s excellent work, despite being newly established.

He urged staff members to justify their appointments through dedication and commitment, emphasizing that their efforts would contribute to the organization’s success.

The federal lawmaker also encouraged staff to support the Chairman/CEO, Engr Abdwaaris, for their mutual success.

In response, Engr Abdwaaris thanked Governor Ododo for his vision in establishing the Commission and assured that the management team was poised to address challenges in the state’s electricity market.

“We operate as a team with shared values and objectives,” Engr Abdwaaris said.

Engr Abdwaaris commended the federal legislator for the visit, adding that it serves as a morale booster for him and other staff of the commission.

The visit was attended by Commissioners, General Managers, and senior staff members, who welcomed the Ajaokuta House of Representatives member.
