Gov. Ododo Launches Kogi Performance Indicator Tracker, Urges Citizen’s Monitoring of Govt Policies

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has initiated the Performance Indicator Tracker (KPIT) to empower the state’s citizens to monitor government’s policies and programs.

This innovative tool, crafted by the State Ministry of Finance, was unveiled earlier today at the government house in Lokoja.

In his address, Governor Ododo, represented by his Deputy Comrade Joel Salifu, emphasized that the performance Indicator Tracker (KPIT) is a tool that is designed to provide essential data to guide the government in making well-informed decisions that address the most critical needs of the people.

He maintained that it will function as a performance monitoring mechanism to ensure timely delivery of projects and services within budget timeframe, while upholding the highest standards of quality.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the application will enhance transparency by granting public access to important performance data, thereby fostering trust and enabling citizens to hold the government accountable.

The Governor urged all citizens of Kogi State to utilize the platform by engaging with the government and demanding accountability.

He also called upon Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), development partners, and civil society organizations to collaborate with the government in ensuring the effective implementation of the tool.

He reiterated his commitment to the people of Kogi State to serve with integrity and deliver impactful results that would touch the lives of every citizen.

Earlier in his address, the Commissioner for Finance, Mukadam Asiwaju Ashiru Idris, mentioned that the Governor had tasked his Ministry with developing the Performance Indicator Tracker tool to enable citizens to access all government initiatives, policies, and programs across the state.

He emphasized that the Performance Indicator Tracker responds to the call for transparency, accountability, and efficacy in government budgeting, affirming that through the App, the government will monitor progress and ensure outcomes that bring about transformation in the lives of individuals and communities.

The Kogi Performance Indicator Tracker (KPIT), an initiative of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, undoubtedly offers the citizens of Kogi State a valuable opportunity to actively engage with the government, providing their perspectives on policies and programs.
