Kogi State Government says it is making frantic effort to ensure that the State Radio competite favourably with its counterpart in other parts of the Country.
The Commissioner of Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo stated this while presenting appointment letter to the new Director General of Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Hajia Nana Hauwa Yussufu in his office in Lokoja.
Kingsley Fanwo said the choice of Hajia Nana Hauwa was based on her competence, capacity and ability to lead the Radio to the next level.
He stressed that the new Director General was coming at a time when the government was working on providing the necessary logistics support with a view to enabling the station improve on its services to the people.
Fanwo expressed optimism that the new DG will use her wealth of experience and knowledge to impact positively on the Organization, assuring of the Ministry’s support to ensure the State Radio operate maximally.
He noted that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is proud to appoint the first female Director General for the Organization , calling on management and Staff to give the new Director General the necessary support and cooperation to achieve success.
The Commissioner applauded the outgoing Director General, Alhaji Ojo Oyila Ozovehe for his innovation, dedication and loyalty to the service of the government and people of Kogi State.
In his remark, the outgoing DG, Alhaji Ojo Oyila Ozovehe expressed gratitude to the state Government for the confidence reposed in him to serve the State.
Alhaji Ojo Oyila, who felicitated with his successor, urged the new Director General to be guided by truth, equity and fairness in the discharge of her duty.
Responding, Hajia Nana Hauwa Yussuf expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for the trust reposed in her, pledging not to disappoint in the discharge of her new responsibility.
Recall that on Tuesday this week, Hajia Nana Hauwa Yussuf was appointed the Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation.
Until her appointment, she was the Director Commercial Services of the State Broadcasting Corporation. She holds Masters Degree in International Relations and a fellow of Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARPA.
