Igalamela/Odolu APC stakeholders Unite for peaceful conduct of LG Polls.

Ahead of the coming Local Government election in Kogi State, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Igalamela/ Odolu Local Government Area have commended the transition Chairman of the Council, Hon (Barrister) Cosmas Atabor for his commitment to the promotion of peace, unity and development of the Area.

The stakeholders who took turns to speak on the coming Local Government polls, maintained that only the best candidates would be given opportunity to fly the flags of the party in the election which is scheduled for October 2024.

The meeting affirmed the inclusion of women in the election, and resolved that the two axis in the Local Government would produce two female Councillorship candidates each for the polls.

The stakeholders meeting also endorsed its internal zoning among the various axis of the Local Government, with Igalamela district to produce the APC Chairmanship candidate for the October 2024 Council polls.

The stakeholders at the strategic meeting expresses commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful conduct of the upcoming local government elections in the State.

Speaking after the meeting, the convener and former Minister, Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni emphasized the stakeholders’ commitment to a unified and peaceful election process.

The stakeholders, including prominent figures such as Hon.Ismail Inah Husseini a former member of the House of Representatives for Idah Federal constituency,Hon. Baron Okwoli former Commissioner , Barrister Cosmas Atabor, Current Transition chairman, Hon. Ignatius Onoja (Kross), a former Chairman of the Local Government, Comrade Ali Atabor, former Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government as well as Chief Eunice Achimugu, a Special Adviser to the Governor among others, reiterates commitment to work harmoniously to present an acceptable candidate to the people.

Prof. Ocheni urged the people to maintain peace during the elections, focusing on development and improvement of quality of lives of the people in the Local Government Area.

“The APC stakeholders have resolved to ensure victory for the party, building on past successes. The meeting demonstrated a united front, with stakeholders committed to a peaceful and successful election process”.

Prof. Ocheni commended the stakeholders for their dedication to the party’s progress, emphasizing the importance of unity in achieving victory.

The Former Minister encouraged the people to have faith in the APC’s ability to bring about positive change in the Local Government Area.

The stakeholders also discussed strategies for engaging with the community, listening to their concerns, and addressing their needs. This approach aims to foster a sense of ownership and inclusivity among the people, ensuring that the APC’s victory benefits everyone.
