Igalamela/Odolu Council Chairman Promises Improved Infrastructure, Economic Growth

Igalamela/Odolu Elders Forum and Peace Movement Felicitate with Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas Atabor.

The Igalamela/Odolu Elders Forum and the Igalamela Peace Movement Association have congratulated the Executive Chairman, Hon. Barrister Cosmas Atabor, on his victory in the recent council poll.

During a courtesy visit to his office, Hon. Ilyasu Usman, speaking on behalf of the Elders Forum, acknowledged the role of divine providence in Barrister Atabor’s emergence as chairman, describing him as one destined to lead
the people at this time.

Mallam Usman appealed to the Council to partner with Agencies like the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA) and the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) to address pressing community needs, particularly improving access to clean water and rehabilitating feeder roads to support agriculture and economic growth.

The forum also requested the Chairman’s support in securing a district head for Oforachi District and upgrading the traditional stool to enhance its effectiveness.

Similarly, Mr. Adaji R. Ojonimi, representing the Igalamela Peace Movement Association, commended the Chairman’s leadership and restated the need for community development to deter crime.

He assured the Chairman of the Association’s full support in advancing his administration’s goals.

Responding, Barrister Cosmas Atabor expressed gratitude to the visiting groups and acknowledged their concerns for the development of the Local Government.

The Chairman praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s developmental initiatives, particularly the ongoing rural road construction efforts in all the Local Government of the State, assuring that Igalamela/Odolu would be included in the next phase of projects.

He also announced plans to repair the brokendown Local Government grader to improve road networks and promote economic activities.

On the request for District Head in Oforachi, he urged the elders to formalize their appeal for submission to relevant government authorities, promising his administration’s support.
