A high-level security meeting was held in Odolu on June 16, 2025, to address the persistent Farmers-Herders conflict in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area.
The meeting, convened by Executive Chairman Hon.( Barr.) Cosmas Ilemona Atabor, brought together stakeholders, including government officials, traditional rulers, community chiefs, and security agencies.
The meeting examined critical issues and adopted actionable resolutions to promote peaceful coexistence and address the root causes of the crisis.
Individuals responsible for recent disturbances were required to sign undertakings as part of a peace initiative.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating crime, strengthening security, and fostering unity across all communities.
He emphasized the need for collective action to maintain peace and stability.
Following the security meeting, Hon. (Barr)Atabor received a group of decampees who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He welcomed them, assuring equal rights and opportunities within the party, and urged them to be sincere, loyal, and active in strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
