KERC Chairman/CEO Strengthens Ties with NSCDC

The Chairman/CEO of the Kogi Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), Engr. Ibrahim S. Abdwaaris, paid a strategic visit to the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commander Akinlade Esther O.

The purpose of the visit was to forge a strong working synergy between KERC and NSCDC to achieve the commission’s core objectives.

During his introductory remarks, Engr. Abdwaaris emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating that NSCDC’s support is crucial to KERC’s success.

He highlighted that the Kogi State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, established KERC to achieve specific goals, and it is imperative to work together to realize these objectives.

In response, Commandant Akinlade Esther O assured Engr. Abdwaaris of her command’s readiness to partner with KERC, noting that the commission’s success would also be seen as a success for NSCDC.

She pointed out that protecting government critical infrastructure is one of the Corps’ core mandates and assured the visiting team that they have competent personnel to assist KERC in achieving its goals.

Engr. Abdwaaris was accompanied on the visit by key officials of the commission, including Engr. Michael Meliga, Commissioner for Engineering, Performance, and Monitoring; Professor Abdulkareem Ibrahim, Commissioner for Legal, Licensing, and Compliance; Alhaji Kasim Mabo, Commission Secretary; and Alhaji Ali Atabor, Head of Public Relations.

This visit is a major step towards strengthening the partnership between KERC and NSCDC, ensuring the effective regulation of the electricity sector in Kogi State.
