The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu today joined his boss, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo alongside the state economic team on an interactive session with the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lagos, Ms. Yan Yuqing, at the Government House in Lokoja.
The meeting was aimed at securing an agreement with the People’s Republic of China for the takeoff of the Kogi-Hunan Special Economic Zone, with the status of a Free Trade Zone in Ajaokuta trade corridor.
This strategic meeting chaired by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has led to the formal agreement for the take off of Kogi Hunan Special Economic Zone, which will operate as a Free Trade Zone.
The agreement will no doubt, create employment opportunities for the teeming youth population, enhance the economic prosperity of the state, and present lucrative opportunities for the Chinese government to capitalize on the abundance of natural resources available in the state.
Through this, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has further demonstrated his unwavering commitment to fostering foreign direct investment and create more enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
His dedication to bolstering the economy of the state for the overall benefits of the people is unprecedented.
