Our attention has been drawn to defamatory statements made by certain individuals and miscreants posing as media experts, accusing Kogi State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, of orchestrating an assault on opposition supporters.
We feel compelled to address these allegations for clarity and emphasis.
The facts are clear:
– Deputy Governor Salifu is known for his humility, modesty, and reverence, making it impossible for him to harm anyone, let alone instigate an attack.
– He was not en route to Kogi East, but rather attending a party function in Ejule, where he was assaulted by thugs allegedly sponsored by Alhaji Muritala Ajaka.
– Salifu would never entertain violence or seize opposition vehicles.
– With the Supreme Court’s validation of his election, there is no motive for him to instigate violences
.
– We urge Alhaji Muritala Ajaka to accept the Supreme Court’s ruling for peace and unity in Kogi State.
– We will not tolerate attempts to plunge the state into turmoil due to failed political ambition.
– We implore citizens to refrain from associations that sow hate and disunity.
– The present administration remains committed to safeguarding lives and properties, and dealing decisively with criminal elements and purveyors of disunity and violence.
