The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has urged Christian community in the state to intensify their supplications for the continued success of the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
At a church service this Sunday at the United Evangelical Church, New layout, Lokoja, the Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of unwavering support and prayers from the worshippers towards the government, urging them to persist in their efforts.
Comrade Salifu highlighted Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s humility and dedication to serving the state with utmost commitment, maintaining the necessity for increased prayers to ensure the Governor’s success.
He emphasized the virtues of patience and loyalty, encouraging individuals to persevere in their endeavors, remain devout in prayer, and trust that breakthroughs will come at the appointed time.
Deputy Governor Joel Salifu pledged to foster an open-door policy for all residents of the state, welcoming advice and constructive criticism, while urging the populace to engage with him to contribute ideas for the collective welfare of the state.
In his sermon, Reverend Samuel Essien admonished the congregation to shun sinful behavior, noting its detrimental impact on progress and development, while emphasizing that righteousness is a cornerstone of national elevation.
Drawing from the biblical account of Joseph, who remained steadfast in his faith amidst adversities, Reverend Essien urged the people to uphold their integrity and steer clear of iniquities.
He stressed the importance of consistent prayers for leaders in positions of authority, emphasizing the gravity of leadership responsibilities.
Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Eleojo Salifu, the Deputy Governor was joined by the Director General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, and the Zonal Security Adviser to the Governor on Security for Idah Federal Constituency, Hon. James Onoja.
The church leadership offered prayers for the government’s continued guidance towards greater accomplishments, and presented a gift to the second family of the state.
