Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has declared accelerated support for sports and youth development in the state.
This move is part of his administration’s commitment to promoting the growth and progress of young people in Kogi State.
According to Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, the state government will provide necessary support and attention to sports and youth development in 2025.
This includes upgrading the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja to international standards and promoting grassroots sporting activities across the state’s three senatorial districts.
Hon Anyebe also highlighted the state government’s passion for youth and sports development, citing last year’s achievements by the Kogi Sports Council, which won gold medals in various sporting activities nationwide.
To further enhance sports development, the state government is working on model standard facilities at the Kogi State Sports Center, particularly for volleyball.
The commissioner also emphasized the importance of collective efforts, urging sports enthusiasts and youth developers to join hands with the state Government to promote sports and youth development.
Governor Ododo’s commitment to youth and sports development is part of his broader vision for Kogi State, which includes transforming the state’s economy, improving infrastructure, and promoting education and healthcare.
