Kogi State Launches Youth Database to Empower Young People in Digital Era

In commemoration of the 2024 International Youth Day, Kogi State Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo unveiled the Kogi State Youth Database, a comprehensive platform designed to connect young people with opportunities for growth and development.

Represented by his Deputy, Elder Salifu Oyibo, the Governor highlighted the platform’s purpose: to document skills, talents, and aspirations, and facilitate access to resources, training, and mentorship.

The database aims to bridge the gap between youths and stakeholders, enabling them to thrive in the digital economy.

The event celebrated the theme “From Click To Progress: Youth Digital Pathway For Sustainable Development,” acknowledging the invaluable contributions of young people in Kogi State.

The Governor commended their mature conduct during recent nationwide protests and recognized their achievements in various sectors.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, emphasized the state’s commitment to empowering youths to harness digital technologies.

He urged young people to take ownership of their digital futures and use their skills to drive positive changes.

A lecture/training session by Dr. Victoria Yemi-Peters encouraged youths to embrace digital technology’s advantages while avoiding its negative aspects.
