The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Kogi State, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammed Nyanya, led a delegation of state officers to Ajaka, the headquarters of Igalamela/Odolu LGA, to supervise the election and inauguration of new NULGE executives for the branch.
Addressing the gathering, Alhaji Nyanya urged the newly elected officials to remain committed to their duties and prioritize the welfare of staff members.
Representing the Director of Local Government (DLG), Comrade Adams Sani, the Director of Personnel Management, Hon. Ukwubile Abalaka, commended Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his commitment to workers’ welfare.
He praised the governor for implementing the minimum wage and approving the payment of September 2020 salary arrears.
Hon. Abalaka also lauded the Executive Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu LGA, Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas I. Atabor, for his leadership style marked by fairness, justice, and transparency.
He expressed confidence in Atabor’s potential for greater leadership opportunities in the future.
In his farewell address, the outgoing NULGE Chairman, Comrade Cletus Gabriel Abutu, expressed gratitude to stakeholders and staff for their support during his tenure.
He urged the new leadership to boost cooperation with local government stakeholders and staff to ensure smooth administration.

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Comrade Sunday Ogwu, expressed his gratitude to his predecessor and the staff for entrusting him with the leadership role. He pledged to uphold the Union’s Constitution and prioritize workers’ welfare throughout his tenure.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, state officers, local government branch chairmen, and other distinguished personalities from the LGA.
