The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has collaborated with Equity Promotion Ltd. to organize a sensitization workshop aimed at ensuring a fair, transparent, and effective electoral process for the upcoming local government elections on October 19, 2024.

In his opening remarks, KOSIEC Chairman Hon. Mamman Nda Eri emphasized the importance of equipping the Commission and stakeholders with knowledge and strategies for smooth and successful elections.

The workshop featured presentations by experts, including Barr. Bamidele Suru, Dr. Abraham Musa Peter, and Dr. Tosin Ayo, who shared insights into global electoral best practices and addressed potential challenges.

A key takeaway from the discussions was the call for the Kogi State Government to broaden the scope of the state’s electoral laws and allocate dedicated funding to KOSIEC for administrative and management development.
