National Youth Games: Kogi’s Ize, Samuel Win Bronze

Kogi state has won bronze medals in the table tennis event bringing the total medals to three, one gold and the bronzes, at the ongoing eight National Youth Games Asaba twenty twenty four.

Ize Sezau and Samuel Dada won the bronze medals in table tennis girls singles and table tennis boys singles respectively.

Ize was defeated by her Lagos counterpart while Samuel was defeated by his Oyo state counterpart, both at the semi finals.

Speaking to newsmen after the third place victory of the duo, coach friday Abah, said they played hard but wished they had clinched the gold medal.

In a swift reaction, the Kogi state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Hon Monday A Anyebe in a telephone conversation, congratulated the duo for the feat so far achieved in the National Youth Games.

While urging other athletes to put in their best to win more medals for the state, he expressed optimism that more medals would be won as the competition progressed.
