*NAWOJ Humanity-First* Initiative set to be unveiled today in Borno state.

The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) is set to unveil the NAWOJ Humanity-First initiative(NAHFI), a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Association.

The initiative, according to Aisha Ibrahim, National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) is targeted at feeding both women, men, children and extended families during religious and other festivities, i.e Easter, Sallah and Christmas across the country.

The initiative has been the pet project of the National Chairperson for over 20 years and she now wishes to bring it to the association as part of its corporate social responsibility to humanity.

The benefits of Humanity-First Initiative, according to the National Chairperson, include spiritual healing, and fulfillment of one’s social responsibility to the community and society at large.

The maiden event is expected to feed about 150 people, the National Chairperson stated and about 1000 at the end of the exercise.

Easter NAHFI will be done in Plateau, Sallah in Kano, while Christmas will be hosted in Portharcourt the Rivers state capital.

As part of the unveiling today, some Islamic clerics will deliver a 30-minute lecture before breaking the religious fast.

Christian clerics will also be invited to replicate same during other festivities across the nation.
