Lokoja, Kogi State – Omanews management mourns the loss of its founding father, Comrade Matthias Omale, a renowned journalist and retired Deputy Director of News at Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation.
Omale passed away peacefully at his Lokoja residence on Monday at over 60 years old.
A distinguished career spanning 35 years was marked by diligence, professionalism, and kindness.
Omale served the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in various capacities, including Vice President of Zone D.
His legacy extends beyond his impressive resume, inspiring younger journalists through his wealth of knowledge and discipline.
“Omanews has lost a pillar,” said Comrade Ali Atabor, representing the management. “Comrade Omale’s guidance and work ethic were invaluable. His commitment to ethical journalism will be deeply missed.”
Omale is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and relations. Hailing from Ugwaka-Ola in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, his burial date is yet to be announced.
The Omanews management extends condolences to NUJ Kogi State officials and members, Omale’s family, and all who knew him.
