Following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s election, Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni, a former Minister, congratulated the Governor on his landmark victory.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Ocheni emphasized that the apex court’s judgment has put to rest any doubts about the legitimate occupant of the Lugard House, Kogi State’s seat of power.
Professor Ocheni, a traditional Chieftaincy holder of the Ata-Igala, expressed excitement and joy on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, noting that the Supreme Court’s validation of their victory is a testament to the party’s overwhelming acceptance among the people.
He praised Governor Ododo’s administration for prioritizing civil servants’ and pensioners’ welfare, addressing insecurity, youth unemployment, and women empowerment.
Professor Ocheni urged those who challenged the Governor’s victory to sheathe their swords and collaborate with him to develop Kogi State.
He encouraged them to bring their ideas and plans to the table, harmonize them with the Governor’s vision, and work together for the state’s rapid growth and development.
Professor Ocheni appealed to Governor Ododo to embrace inclusivity and open his doors to his fellow contestants, allowing them to make genuine contributions to the state’s governance.
On behalf of the APC stakeholders and members in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, Professor Ocheni pledged unflinching support and cooperation to Governor Ododo’s administration.
