Professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni, a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, paid a condolence visit to the family of late community leader, Mr. J.S. Idakwo, in Igalamela, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area.
The deceased was a renowned patriot and former National President of the Igalamela Community Development Association (ICDA), the apex social-cultural body of the community.
During his visit, Professor Ocheni consoled the widow, Mrs. Laruba Idakwo, describing the late Mr. Idakwo as a true community mobilizer and servant of his people.
He highlighted the deceased’s remarkable achievements as ICDA President, which brought peace, unity, and development to Igalamela community.
Professor Ocheni recalled Mr. Idakwo’s advocacy for justice, fairness, and community growth, saying, “This is a great loss, but his legacy will inspire present and future generations”.
He urged the family to find comfort in the deceased’s enduring impact on the community.
Additionally, Professor Ocheni visited Sir Joseph Obaje, a retired Permanent Secretary, to condole with him on the loss of his mother, Madam Cecilia Habibat Obaje, who passed away on Wednesday this week at the ripe age of 102.
He encouraged the family to celebrate her life, praying for eternal bliss.
Sir Joseph Obaje appreciated the visit, sharing how his mother remained a pillar of support until her passing, significantly impacting their lives.
