Renowned Retired Judge, Pa Audu Egbunu, Passes Away at 85

Pa Audu Egbunu, fondly known as Agani, a retired Area Court Judge of the Kogi State Judiciary, has passed away at the age of 85.

He died this morning at his residence in Ajaka, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, after a brief illness.

The deceased had a distinguished career in the Kogi State Judiciary, serving in various lower courts in different capacities before retiring over a decade ago.

Pa Audu Egbunu is survived by his wives, children, great-grandchildren, and several relatives, including Hon Ali Atabor, a former Caretaker Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area.

Pa Audu Egbunu’s remains will be laid to rest at his country home in Alome-Ugwolawo, Ofu Local Government Area, according to Islamic rites, tomorrow morning.

The news of his passing has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with sympathizers and mourners trooping to his Ajaka residence to condole with the family.

Early callers described the death of the late Area Court Judge as a big loss to the community and local government, praying for Allah’s mercy on his soul and for the family to find the strength to bear the loss of their beloved octogenarian.
