Rivers APC Endorses President Tinubu’s State of Emergency Declaration

*RIVERS APC STATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING WHICH HELD AT THE STATE PARTY SECRETARIAT TODAY, TUESDAY – MARCH 25TH, 2025, IN PORT HARCOURT*

The State Executive Committee Meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State under the able and capable Chairmanship of Sir (Chief) Tony Okocha, DSSRS, JP, was held today at the State Party Secretariat along Aba Road in Port Harcourt.

The State Executive Committee Meeting which also included Chairmen of the APC in the 23 LGAs in Rivers State provided an ample opportunity for the leadership of the party to discuss the way forward in view of recent developments in Rivers State.

Chief amongst the issues discussed was the declaration of a State of Emergency in Rivers State by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which was unanimously applauded as the right step in the right direction.

The decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to declare a State of Emergency in Rivers State was summarily described as “swift and timely,” to restore law and order, and forestall a total breakdown of peace in Rivers State, by members of the State Executive Committee of the APC.

A vote of confidence was also passed on Sir (Chief) Tony C. Okocha, DSSRS, JP, the Chairman of the APC in Rivers State by members of the State Executive Committee of the party for what they described as his “visionary”, “pragmatic”, “dynamic”, and “effective” leadership of the APC in the State.

The members of the State Executive Committee of the Rivers APC also affirmed their total and unflinching support, and loyalty, for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President.

The apogee point of the meeting was the adoption of the position of Sir (Chief) Tony C Okocha, the Chairman of the APC in Rivers State on the declaration of a State of Emergency in the State, which was made public on 19th March, 2025, as the official position of the APC in Rivers State.

The State Executive Committee of the Rivers APC also congratulated Vice Admiral Ibak-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd) on his appointment as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, and pledged the full cooperation of the APC as a responsible political party in Rivers State.
