President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been unanimously endorsed by 22 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors and the National Assembly leadership as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The show of unity signals strong backing within the party.
The endorsement took place at the APC National Summit on Thursday at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.
Governors under the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) formally backed Tinubu’s candidacy, emphasising loyalty and solidarity ahead of the 2027 polls.
High-ranking APC leaders attended the summit, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
The gathering brought together party stakeholders from all 36 states, reinforcing collective support for Tinubu.
Senator Hope Uzodimma, PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, moved the endorsement motion, seconded by Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani.
The motion passed by voice vote and was met with a standing ovation, highlighting the party’s unified front for the upcoming election.
