President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his support for democracy as a platform for idea exchange, not enmity.
Represented by Information Minister Mohammed Idris, he spoke at the Abuja launch of ex-Governor Sule Lamido’s autobiography, ‘Being True to Myself,’ calling it a vital addition to Nigeria’s political literature.
President Tinubu praised Lamido as a bold and principled leader whose life reflects Nigeria’s democratic journey.
He urged political veterans to document their experiences, highlighting Lamido’s decade-long dedication to his memoir as a model for preserving history.
Former leaders, including Olusegun Obasanjo and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (represented by Prof. Jega), hailed the book’s depth.
Top dignitaries like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Gov. Inuwa Yahaya, and others graced the launch, celebrating Lamido’s contributions to national discourse.
