A Town Hall meeting was held in the Kogi Central Senatorial District, comprising Okene, Okehi, Adavi, Ogori Magongo, and Ajaokuta Local Government Areas, where youths declared their support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The meeting was initiated by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, and appointees under the Ministry.
The Town Hall meeting, a first-of-its-kind initiative by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, aimed to bring youths together and discuss issues affecting them positively under the present administration.
Speakers at the meeting praised the initiative, noting that Governor Ododo’s administration wants youths to be part of his government.
At Okene, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Empowerment Central, Mr. Mubarak Ibrahim Umar, said the people of the Central Senatorial district are happy with Governor Ododo’s quality leadership.
He called on youths to continue supporting the government and pray for the state’s growth and development.
Similarly, at Okehi, the representative of the Local Government Chairman, Mr. Monday Anoka, emphasized the need for collective effort and carrying youths along in governance to ensure strong support for the government.
At Adavi, the Council Leader of the Local Government, Hon. Yusuf Elizabeth Onozare, commended Governor Ododo’s administration for its appointments of women in the state, saying the governor deserved commendation.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Women Mobilization, Hon. Charity Omole, urged youths and women to continue supporting Governor Ododo’s government.
She commended the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development for organizing the meeting.
In response, Hon. Monday Anyebe said the meeting aimed to bring youths together and discuss issues and programs benefiting them.
Hon Anyebe described Governor Ododo as a youth-friendly governor and assured that youths would continue to be given opportunities to serve in the administration.
The Commissioner disclosed that several programs would be implemented for the benefit of youths, particularly on youth empowerment, politics, and programs that would give them a sense of belonging.
He thanked youths for attending the Town Hall meeting and assured that their requests would be considered.
